Nice to meet you – let us introduce ourselves

Since 2019 I have been breeding with heart and mind under the name Coutset Coonies. I was initially a member of the Cat Club Romand and changed to the Cat Club des Montagnes in 2023, which is affiliated with FFH / FIFé.

I deliberately kept my Swiss cattery name after moving – as a loving reminder of my former home in Le Coutset, CH - Trey (canton of Vaud), where it all began.

From time to time we participate in FIFé cat shows:
on the one hand to review our conformity with the breed standard, and on the other to maintain valuable contacts with internationally recognised, responsible and reputable breeders.

Our small and select hobby breeding program is, of course, officially registered with the Austrian authorities.

Our philosophy
Health, character and species-appropriate husbandry are our top priorities.
Our cats are full-fledged family members – and this is exactly how our kittens grow up: right in the heart of family life, with close human contact and lots of love.
My breeding philosophy is to raise typey, people-oriented Maine Coons from healthy, thoroughly tested lines – without extremes.

This principle has proven itself time and again throughout all the years of my breeding activities – also with other animal species

(poultry, alpacas).

Without exception, all our breeding cats undergo thorough health screening prior to mating, including cardiac and renal ultrasound examinations as well as comprehensive genetic testing.

Breeding Maine Coons in their original type is my personal contribution to preserving this wonderful, people-oriented and easy-going breed.

Coonies truly are the best cats ever – loyal, gentle and always close by, our little “dog cats” and devoted helpers at mum’s side.
